How Is Monolithic Power's Stock Performance Compared to Other Semiconductor Stocks?![]() With a market cap of $35 billion, Kirkland, Washington-based Monolithic Power Systems, Inc. (MPWR) designs, develops, markets, and sells semiconductor-based power electronics solutions for the storage and computing, automotive, enterprise data, consumer, communications, and industrial markets. Companies worth $10 billion or more are typically referred to as "large-cap stocks." MPWR fits right into that category, with its market cap exceeding this threshold, reflecting its substantial size and influence in the semiconductor industry. MPWR benefits from focusing on the market for high-performance analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits (ICs). Despite its strengths, the stock has plunged 24.9% from its 52-week high of $959.64 touched on Aug. 29 last year. Moreover, over the past three months, MPWR stock has surged 26.4%, outperforming the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF’s (XSD) 17.4% uptick during the same time frame. ![]() MPWR stock has gained 21.8% on a YTD basis, outperforming XSD’s 1.1% decline in 2025. The company reported a revenue of $637.6 million, topping Wall Street forecasts of $635.1 million. Moreover, its adjusted EPS for the quarter came in at $2.92, falling short of the consensus estimate by 3.3%. MPWR expects revenue in the range of $640 million to $660 million for the next quarter. In the semiconductor arena, rival NXP Semiconductors N.V. (NXPI) has grown 4.6% in 2025 but has tanked 21.8% over the past year, underperforming the stock. Among the 14 analysts covering the MPWR stock, the consensus rating is a “Strong Buy.” Its mean price target of $759.42 suggests a modest 5.4% upside potential from current price levels.
